CIREBA FUNDS OFFER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIALYSIS PATIENTS

Mr. Kel Thompson, one of the Board of Director members and their President Mr. James Bovell presented Mrs Pamela Hue with a plaque for the recognition of Mr. Hue's contribution to engineering in the Cayman Islands. Mr. Hue was a brilliant practical engineer and used his talent to help the real estate and construction industries develop Cayman into a world class building industry.

Honourees were asked to choose a charity or community organization to receive an honorarium on their behalf. Mr Hue's Wife - Pamela, designated the Dialysis Unit at George Town Hospital to receive $10,000 Honorarium, which will be used to aide the unit in educating their patients. Mr. Caswell Walford, Public Relations Office at George Town Hospital explains,

With the donation being provided, we intend to implement a patient education channel within the Dialysis Unit which will provide tailored information for each patient on diet, and nutrition, living with dialysis, support systems and other resources while they sit for the approximately 3-5 hours of treatment. This will also allow us the opportunity to create educational sessions with relatives.

James Bovell, president of CIREBA stated,

CIREBA is delighted to assist with the funding needed to obtain the technology to implement this educational program. CIREBA strives to constantly contribute to the betterment of the community as a whole, from establishing real estate standards to donating much needed funds.

For more information about the Dialysis Unit or the educational program, please contact the Unit at the George Town Hospital.
