"Home is Where the Heart is" donates CI$10,000 to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC)

Through this programme CIREBA has committed to donating CI$10,000 a month to various charities and organizations during the 2020 year.

CIREBA is proud to announce that the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) received the most votes from the CIREBA members during the month of December and a cheque for CI $10,000 was presented from Jeanette Totten (CIREBA Director) to Ania Milanowska of the CICC organization.

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2003. The CICC carries out its mission by providing safe shelter for abused women and their children, a 24-hour crisis line and ongoing support and counseling programmes for victims of domestic violence.

Ania Milanowska said,

We are very grateful to CIREBA for this generous donation. This year has been very challenging, and because of the pandemic we were not able to carry out our annual fundraisers. Thanks to your gift we will be able to feed our clients and their children in December, pay for some shelter’s utilities and cover the 24/7 security costs. It is only thanks to donors like you, that we can carry out our mission to make sure that all victims of domestic violence in the Cayman Islands are safe and receiving all the necessary support they need. Thank you for taking a stand against domestic violence!

The CICC is also pleased to provide community education on the following issues: domestic abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, child abuse, and healthy relationships. If you would like more information regarding the Community Education Programme or schedule a presentation at no cost for your company, colleagues or friends, please contact the CICC (949-0366).

CIREBA has been happy to help those most in need within the Cayman community in 2020 and they are wishing everyone a safe and joyful holiday season and a prosperous 2021!
