Charlie Brown has been in the sales and service industry for as long as he can remember. He hails from Cayman Brac and even at an early age began honing his selling skills by offering avocados, naseberries and any other seasonal fruits from his homestead to the few individuals who passed by on foot or by bus. Further education took him to Jamaica for high school and the University of Technology where he earned an engineering diploma. Upon his return to Grand Cayman, putting his engineering skills to work, Charlie took responsibility for the first ever production of soft drinks on island marketed by Cayman Distributors and then went on to servicing motor vehicles and engine repairs of every type and size. This was just the beginning of getting to know and interact with a wider cross section of the local population, but it was through his sales of furniture and home goods now to 3rd generation consumers, that he became even better known. Charlie, a ‘people person’, is very aware of the local tapestry of personalities, businesses, opportunities and risks and due to his business interests over the years, is equally acquainted with the needs of the visitor, foreigner or resident. He is always looking for challenges and a new goal to work towards which led to his interest in martial arts pioneering exhibitions in the 1980’s, returning to college earning an Associate’s degree in Accounting as well as in 2008 an Executive MBA through the Rotman School of Management in Canada. His interests have also included photography, music as he is a home-grown guitarist, public speaking thorough Dale Carnegie courses, and self-taught culinary skills.
